World Habitat Day 2021

World Habitat Day was first designated by the United Nations in 1985 to reflect on the state of towns and cities, and on the basic right of all to adequate shelter. It is recognized annually on the first Monday of October.

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity South Carolina and 29 local affiliates, Governor Henry McMaster designated October 4, 2021 as World Habitat Day in the State of South Carolina in recognition of Habitat for Humanity’s continuing efforts to increase affordable homeownership in our state.
