2020 Economic Impact Analysis

Since 1978, Habitat has worked alongside local families in South Carolina to build, repair, and rehabilitate over 4,200 homes. Our work drives important social and economic outcomes for those households. It also stimulates other sectors of the economy--driving additional spending and creating local jobs. This report shares how our investments had a ripple effect in the local economy and generated nearly $62 million dollars of economic activity in 2020.

 

2017 Economic Impact Study

Habitat for Humanity affiliates across South Carolina strive to eliminate substandard housing and provide quality, affordable housing to families earning less than 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

But our mission is more than structures and economic output. We measure our sucesses and outputs in families served, neighborhhods improved and children moved into safe neighborhoods. Our investments, made through generous donations, grant,s and fundraising efforts have helped more than 3,500 families across South Carolina realize quality, affordable housing since 1978.

 

2019 Economic Impact Analysis

Every year, we work alongside local families as they achieve homeownership and repair their homes. This work drives important social and economic outcomes, as stable housing has a tremendous impact on family and community health, improved education outcomes for children, and increased financial stability and opportunity.

Building and repairing homes also stimulates other sectors of the economy – driving additional spending and creating local jobs. This report shares how our investments had a ripple effect in the local economy and generated important economic activity in 2019.
